Founded by Hugo Ferdinand Boss in 1924 in Metzingen, Germany, Hugo Boss has been a leader in the high-end fashion and fragrance industry ever since.
Born in 1885 in a town that became widely known for its thriving textile industry, Hugo Boss first worked in his parents’ linen and lingerie shop, and then branched out to produce his own line of clothing. Initially, the Hugo Boss factory supplied work uniforms, and then army uniforms.
After Hugo Boss died shortly after world war II, his son-in-law Eugen Holy took over, and the company slowly recovered and started to thrive. His two sons took over and they branched out into creating the luxury fashion we know today, ready-to-wear suits, dresses, and sportswear that can be used for work and for leisure.
